Delicate Arch, Utah, USA
Delicate Arch has become an Utah icon. The walk up to the arch is a 3 mile round trip so not too strenuous at all. My daughter was a big fan of the US National Parks Junior Ranger Program and was super-keen to earn as many badges as she could while we were in the USA last year. They’re free! We all learnt something from that program and I wish they had something as well resourced here in Australia. What we learnt while earning the Arches National Park badge was that it was important to Keep off the Crust. The cryptobiotic crust is extremely fragile and some types take many, many years to form. Step on it and you’ve just wiped out 10 – 100 years of growth.

Lol finally someplace that I have been to!!! 🙂
We loved Utah, especially around Moab. So much to do!
Yep! they got everything happening in Moab 🙂 The four corners is what they call the area…funnily enough when I saw pics of Australia it reminded me of Utah.
I think it’s the red dirt – similar colour in our outback.
they got houses in the caves there…see them? native stuff
Yes, although I don’t remember the name – they were really ancient
yeah, they were. Sueann….thanks as always for the pics. Utah brought back good childhood memories. The few I have lol. Grateful for that 🙂
Looks amazing…..
Thanks. It’s a beautiful part of the world.
Great choice for the theme! Beautiful shot, Sue Ann!
Thanks Amy
This is such a great park and awesome image for the theme! I love the idea of Junior Park Rangers…wonder if I could participate as an adult? 😉
I know. I’m just glad I had Lily with me so I had an excuse to get the booklet! I was so impressed by the whole system. The rangers were so friendly to her when she went up to receive her badge.
Love this image Sue Ann…I miss the red dirt of Australia…something I never thought I’d say while cleaning it off my floor or trying to wash it out of clothes
